About me
My training as a Massage Therapist started over 20 years ago. A pivital time in my life was when I was introduced to the work of Dr. Jones. I read his book Strain, Counterstrain and knew right away he had a powerful concept, that proved very effective through the following years. Fast forward to 2015 when I took my first Jones Institute’s – Facial Counterstrain Intro course with Brian Tuckey, PT, OCS, founder of this technique, who originally had trained with Dr. Jones. It impacted me so much that within a few weeks I had committed to this training and learning everything I could about it. In 2015 I also started my training at Counterstrain Academy with owner, Tim Hodges, LMT, JSCCI, CACI. I have completed all courses with the Jones Institute and the Counterstrain Academy and continue to learn. I am in the Instructor Training Program at the Counterstrain Academy since January of 2019, and as of January 2020 have been invited into the TA program at the Jones Institute. I am so grateful for my Counterstrain Journey, it has improved and changed my life greatly as a patient and as a therapist. See my bio on Counterstrain.com.
